I'm running on quantal. Actually, firefox is still recognising .torrent file as SVG file but it opens Ktorrent as default app so it is no more a problem. http://ubuntuone.com/1fcSNKXkXuY9wXfC8xe6Vv

I didn't have kmozillahelper installed, only firefox-kde-support. Anyway, I just installed kmozillahelper (I don't know if it's necessary) but nothing changed
I'm using Precise.
#143
kmozillahelper is a transitional package for firefox-kde-support.

Ok, I just got the update and it seems that everything works fine. Thanks!
#145
Things are working again for me as well.

This could be entirely a issue with the mimetype reporting from the server. On precise, with this : http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/re...ac.iso.torrent : link, I get this : http://i.imgur.com/4n6DT.png

Whatever server I use, the issue is the same, for FF it's a svg file, not a torrent, but after all it is not very important while it displays the file extension.
#148
Torrent files are recognized properly for me as well.

@ti_tux
You can try a quick test - try with a new/clean profile to see does the issue persist

Can any one else verify if this bug is still present:
