    Change login screen

    Hi guys,
I've been using ubuntu for about almost two months. Some time back read an article on popularity of KDE so decided to give it a try.

Application wise it seems more rich then gnome, but is there any way of changing the default login screen and icons.

Did you load KDE over Gnome or was it a fresh install?

It is a fresh Kubuntu installation and also no dual boot.

If you Alt-F2 for a run command and type kdesu kcontrol, you will get all the various kde configs. You should be able to select you kdm login screen there.

Got it thanks, but it is more of tweaking the login screen. can't we completely change the login screen, the way we can do in gnome using gnome art.

Here you can find KDM themes:
            http://kde-look.org/

            I'm using this for Dapper/Feisty:
            Kubuntu-Volutes
            http://kde-look.org/content/show.php...?content=57907
            Description:
A KDM theme for Kubuntu users, made from scratch with the GIMP.
            And matching splash screen:
            Kubuntu-Volutes
            http://kde-look.org/content/show.php...?content=57909
            Description:
The KDE splash screen (for the Moodin engine) that matches the KDM theme

can't we completely change the login screen, the way we can do in gnome using gnome art.
I haven't tried gnome art but there is:
            kdmtheme
            theme manager for KDM

kdmtheme is a theme manager for KDM. It provides a KDE Control Module (KCM) that allows you to easily install, remove and change your KDM themes.
            Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?
