    Genius vivid 3x usb (scanner)

    from sane's scanner search engine it seems to be a gt68xx-based scanner and thus needs the scanner's firmware file, listed on the gt68xx site as being called ccd548.fw. this file can be found on the device's windows install disc, and probably somewhere in the windows directory. The file needs to be copied to /usr/share/sane/gt68xx. This directory may need to be created, but is there on my system.

    I used to have a gt68xx-based scanner (Mustek Bearpaw) for a few years until it died. it was a super cheap model, but it did nice enough scans in Linux once the sane backend was developed.
