My HeadPhones ARCTIS NOVA 1 Audio Work But not the Mic

    OS: Kubuntu 23.04 x86_64
    Kernel: 6.2.0-26-generic

I have wired ARCTIS NOVA 1 headset , the audio works quite well. I have tried almost all profiles but unable to get the mic working.

Any help would really be appreciated.

On pic 1 it shows your output options and pic 2 shows volume control which is a different screen to the one in pic 1. Go back to the screen pic 1 (quick settings > audio) and go your recording devices section and select the device which describes your headphone mic and select the profile Mono Input.

Hi, thanks for replying. there is no such option available. Mic is plugged into the pc

No Mono Input for Mic here

Just to ensure we are on the same page.

Here is a screen grab of my bottom bar, right hand side only with the sound control circled in white, unless you have removed it you will have one that looks similar (I use a custom icon set). This icon allows 2 options, right click as per your pic 1 and left click as per your pic 2 (I suspect this may have caught you out). Now what you want to do is right click the icon and select Configure Audio Devices which will display the following screen:

For your microphone you are just concerned with the subsection, Recording Devices. This section will contain a list of all hardware devices on your system that can record audio, if you have installed your hardware correctly it will appear here. Contrary to your earlier post what you want to do has absolutely nothing to do with anything in the Playback Devices section which you advise works correctly (you can hear sound). Please note this will vary considerably based on how you have connected your headphones (what wires and what ports you connect to) but one line should contain Arctis or Nova which is what you want.

Now regards the profile, you need to verify what your headset actually provides, that is, does it provide stereo recording or the more usual mono recording. You then set the profile to what your headset physically/actually provides.

What kind of pc, and what kind of port is it plugged into?

Laptops typically have one 2.5 mm jack that combines stereo output with the mic connection, but desktops often have separate microphone jacks.
