Very weird! Last night I installed Kubuntu 7.10 (clean install), rebooted, then started the update process and it stalled half-way through with a message about being unable to resolve a URL.... and with whatever else happened, I couldn't get my wireless card to work again. 
.....so tonight when I got home from work, I thought, "OK, let's try again." So I did another clean install ....and the same thing happened again.
I just completed doing a clean install with Mint 4.0 again and everything is just great.
I don't get it
