    HTPC power management

Can someone point the way toward getting my Edgy desktop to auto-hibernate after a period of inactivity? I've been searching the forums, but most of what I've found seems specific to laptops, and references one of:

    - a little battery icon that I don't have
    - klaptop, which seems inappropriate, since it's a desktop, with no batteries
    - kpowersave, which is either no longer relevant, or conflicts with other packages, according to this page:
    https://wiki.kubuntu.org/KubuntuPowersave
    - guidance-power-management, which I'm clueless about, and which returns "This is not a laptop, quitting," when run from the command line.

Also, since this machine is actually just a media server / HTPC, it would be great if the solution defined "inactivity" to be dependent on cpu load, or some metric other than keyboard / mouse usage.
