I apt-get install xubuntu desktop from kubuntu, and I am using kppp for internet, kppp worked great under kde but has some problem with xfce. In random ocassion once connected, the modem icon will pop up in the middle of the screen together with an unknown 'box like' icon on top of it, both things keep flashing non stop, so as the system tray one and minimized kppp titlebar at the bottom of screen, the flashing icon can been seen in all workspace, this does not affect the system operation but very annoying, the only way to fix it is to reboot.
