I just tried to upgrade, and it immediately displayed a box stating that the upgrade failed. I clicked the upgrade button from the Discover message, and less than 1 second later, I got the failed box. The box was totally empty, just a white box with a title bar that said " Upgrade Failed". Too bad there was nothing in the box, so something else will need to be looked at, HP Pavilion us dv6 Entertainment Laptop. Manufactured in 2009. It's a discontinued product, so nothing but a picture on their website. I have posted about this laptop before, so you already have the specs. I am going to try the Konsole.

Ok. It's night here in the USA, so I don't expect it right away, but nice to know it is being worked on.Originally posted by claydoh View Post

Are you sure that's 24.04? claydoh's reply has assumed you're really on 25.04
24.04 has no upgrade available, as 24.10 has passed end-of-life. When 26.04 LTS is released next April, then 24.04 can be upgraded to it.Regards, John Little

One can upgrade from 24.04, apparently now. This is not mentioned anywhere I can find, and the general *buntu discussions seem to still say it isn't possible. Documentation is nonexistent, I but actually discussed this with the Lubuntu dev who confirmed it, who is the one who created the notifier icon for it.Originally posted by jlittle View Post24.04 has no upgrade available, as 24.10 has passed end-of-life. Ok, here is a mention:
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/may-h...-issue/58642/8
The upgrade from LTS is to 25.04 now, until that goes EOL in July.

Still not fixed yet. Maybe they are still putting the packages together, or maybe that patch they were testing in the bug report didn't work well enough. I guess I'll try again in a few days. I read that Discover is the best way rather than the Konsoul, so I will give it a few more days.

OH, did I put it in the wrong place? Then please move it. I just tried again, so just letting you know it is still not working in case you thought it was fixed.Originally posted by Snowhog View PostDo I need to move this to 25.04?

Does anyone have any idea how long it might take to fix this? I just tried again, and it still fails. Is there a workaround to get this working? It might just be a depreciation in the upgrader program.

Thr blank box and error seems the Same exact bug that hit 25.10, probably no one has reported it against 24.04 -- its not a well known upgrade path yet.

You *can* try either the command line version, or manually pull up the tool correctly (to avoid the bug) as mentioned in the Discourse page, as well as the release notesLast edited by claydoh; Today, 04:14 AM.

However, it sure seems to be working as it is *supposed * to for me, upgrading to 25.04 which is still till open for business.
I thought that 25.04 had past EOL, because I apparently can't add or read a calendar!
Now, it hasn't gone any further than this, so it seems to have crashed.
No, it finally put up the empty box.
The command to start it manually is working.

To be clear, I am upgrading from 25.04 to 25.10, not 24.04 to 25.04. I said this in no.7. I ran discover to check for updates and found the devs finally added the fix to the repos. I am now running the update. It says my screen lock needs to be disabled, but I checked, and it is already disabled. Can I continue, or have I run into a bug?
