    Update delay in Discover application

I open Discover, select package(s) from the updates list and tap on Update selected.
It takes minutes when nothing is happening and then popup windows appear, i type password and everything starts to work correctly and packages get updated.
Why is this happening, what is the problem?

    Networking issues?
High ram, CPU or drive usage somewhere at the the time you are updating ?
    Spinning drive vs SSD?

My guess is that when opening Discover, it is then checking Snaps, flatpaks (if enabled) and firmware updates, while apt itself has checked for normal updates already - it does so on its own in the background, which then is noticed by Discover.

Slower systems, or heavier resource usage from applications etc can slow this down as Discover can be checking all those different systems.

once this happens, I am able to update rest of the packages without any delay, so it's probably as you said claydoh
, primarily I was curious if anybody else is experiencing this too...

Haven't happened for quite a time, probably some update has resolved this issue, so it's fine now...
