[Post-Install] At the login screen, virtual keyboard doesn’t come up

    Hello,
I did a fresh install of Kubuntu 26.04 on a test PC to see how it goes on real hardware.
It contains a nVidia GTX 980 Ti.

At the log in screen, I sometimes use the mouse to open the virtual keyboard and to enter the password.
When the PC locks the screen in 30 min, I sometimes click on the virtual keyboard to enter the password.

With Kubuntu 26.04, clicking on virtual keyboard does nothing.

I know that Wayland is being used. Is it normal that this application doesn’t work?

I forgot to install Onboard, which is also a virtual keyboard software. It runs inside the session. From what I remember, it just crashes.

Unfortunately, I'm having the exact same problem. Were you able to find any workarounds or fixes?

The workaround is probably to install X11 and set the SDDM to use X11. Everything else seems to be correctly set with a new Kubuntu 26.04 installation.
      The login manager is SDDM.

Now the Lock-Screen app is another application different from SDDM. This one won't work from now on probably. It will have to be configured to use a Wayland compatible keyboard instead.
