Upgrades may not be turned on immediately, and even using -d can be blocked if there were a need to do so.

i don't want to wait for the 26.04 to eventually show up on my system , what command can i run now to upgrade ?
i tried sudo do-release-upgrade but it says no new release found.

EDIT: ok seems i can run this sudo do-release-upgrade -d to force it , but i think i'll wait for the proper release (26.04.1) ,just to be safe
let the minor kinks be sorted 1st ...i don't want to start troubleshooting everyday , i'm tired and old

The dumb part: in this dialog, note the (yes/no/fingerprint) bit: enter the appropriate one here, then you will get asked for the password. Or is it the reverse order? If you enter a password here, it will pop up a dialog more clearly asking (yes/no), and then the password. I think that is the order I saw, on neon and/or KDE Linux. \

I don;t know why the dialog has changed to be less...clear.

Mine NFS server log in works as expected here...

The only bug I have found is when logging into my NAS using ssh.
Previously I had done:

ssh-keygen -t rsa
ssh-copy-id -i id_rsa.pub chris@10.10.1.57

Now I get this when trying to ssh (asking for confirmation but prompts for password):

So far have had no problem with the 7.0 kernel here. and everything is running quite smoothly. only have had one glitch and that was on a third party package which I reported.

Did a fresh install of yesterday's daily release and for some reason I get the odd graphical stutter every now and then, a slight pause then back to normal. This is on Radeon 780m graphics while running from nvme. Does it during Firefox use, during game use, during video playback, tested memory and smart status and all ok, any ideas ?

Update: I installed the 6.19.13 kernel and so far no stutters have manifested, so maybe a 7.0 kernel change ?

It would be good to report it as a bug, so it may get fixed.

Installed yesterday's daily build and it's looking pretty good. No major hiccups yet anyways.
Wlll continue testing.

I don't mind wobbly windows being the default. I found it odd that a release upgrade turned it on; regressions to defaults are what Windows does. It's very minor, though. I was annoyed when the release upgrade to 25.10 (I think, maybe it was 25.04) switched to Wayland, breaking my daily flow, requiring a fix.

Wobbly Windows is pretty much the only "fun" thing I enable, just because it's cool IMO.

However, I am reminded that the work being done is amazing, and for free, so if a dev wants to show the world (lol) wobbly windows, I'm OK with that.

When you get to actually important aspects of an OS then I prefer function over fun.

Wobbly Windows as a default setting is a bit odd, indeed (as is the 30 px mouse cursor instead of 24 px)…
Why not go "all in" then and also enable things like Magic Lamp for "Window Minimize", Eye on Screen for "Peek at Desktop" or Fall Apart for "Closed Windows"?
I do like Wobbly Windows and always use it for my personal installations, but a good deal of people I know will probably not be fond of it - and are "very normal" users who would not be able to turn off Wobbly Windows on their own.

Unfortunately the possible installation bug (the "discard" option in /etc/fstab for ext4 partitions despite fstrim.timer) still exists (see step #1 in my draft Kubuntu 26.04 LTS - important things to do after an installation).

Apart from that I really like Kubuntu 26.04 LTS Beta/Daily Build so far (I still use a "real" X11 session due to certain programs that I have to use and quirks of Wayland, though).

I've seen comments elsewhere that wobbly windows is now on by default.
