I've just got a laptop and I installed Kubuntu on it and I can't get the wireless going at all. I tried to disable the ethernet port and it won't let me even if it's not plugged in. I've installed the restricted drivers for wireless and when I don't have the ethernet wire plugged in I can't boot Kubuntu. Once it's plugged in again enables the ethernet again and won't let me on my wireless.
I have it going now. I uninstalled the default network manager and installed Wicd
