Just to share what I've found to handle Dapper printing problems, (hope it helps many posts regarding printing issues):
1) Installed Cups version 1.2rc3 (from www.cups.org);
2) Edited file:///etc/cups/cupsd.conf:
# Administrator user group...
SystemGroup lpadmin root sys (default is only lpadmin)
3) Install default printer via CUPS (localhost:631 in Konqueror).
4) Afterwards, Kdeprint do all the rest very easy...

Dapper F6 Daily build 20060426 (april, 26th), with all updates and upgrades, except the cups (today in version 1.1.99rc...)
PIV SMP; NVidia GForce, Samsung Syncmaster
2 printers: Canon BJC250 (Gimp+Gutemprint 5), HP LJ 1020 (ESP Ghostscript 8.15.2, downloaded from Cups site also).
