Upgrade from 16.04 will be available after 18.04.1 release that is scheduled on 26.07.2018.

During clean install from iso minimal install option is available. I wonder if there will be available a command for Terminal to chose minimal install option while upgrading from 16.04?
By the way if someone has kubuntu-desktop from backports is it necessary to ppa-purge backports before upgrade and come back to default plasma version for 16.04 or updater will disactivate backport itself and do normal upgrade?
