USB 4G Modem U600 not flipping properly

I have the Franklin U600 dual broadband modem for 3G/4G installed on Kubuntu12.10. That is, I finally got it to flip when inserted to show the 3G modem (Qaulcomm). the modem is detected, shown by netwrok-manager (Gnome) and is making a connection to the ISP Virgin Mobile.

However, the 4G part of the modem, a Broadcom chipset bece 3301, is not revealed in the process. so far no switching method has worked. The stagin driver bcm_wimax also does not prompt the modem to show up despite the fact that dmesg shows the driver module loading and possibly the modem.

Here is the latest dmesg excerpt:

[11873.942663] bcm_wimax: module is from the staging directory, the quality is unknown, you have been warned.
[11873.946064] beceem: Beceem Communications Inc. WiMAX driver, 5.2.45
[11873.946072] Copyright 2010. Beceem Communications Inc
[11873.949172] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbbcm
[11878.631955] SGI XFS with ACLs, security attributes, realtime, large block/inode numbers, no debug enabled
    [11878.682393] JFS: nTxBlock = 8192, nTxLock = 65536
    [11878.743868] NTFS driver 2.1.30 [Flags: R/O MODULE].
    [11878.824385] QNX4 filesystem 0.2.3 registered.
    [11878.984875] Btrfs loaded

I have no idea what this means.
    Can anyone enlighten me, please?
