I finally upgraded to 12.04 because 11.10 was just buggy and slow and opted for PinguyOS built around 11.04 and Gnome.
Precise-->Wow, what an improvement. I have not seen such a fast KDE since 3.x (Intrepid?). Even in beta, it just rocks.
Time will tell but so far, it is really polished.
Even little annoying things got fixed, like when I used synaptic and it never looked like it belonged to KDE with ugly widgets (gtk never seemed to apply to kesudo launched gtk based apps).
