Dell XPS 15 L502X touch keys

The Dell XPS 15 L502X has three touch keys. Under Windows the function of these keys are respectively:

    - Open Windows Mobility (screen with a lot of settings for devices like: wi-fi, bluetooth, usb, sound etc.)
    - Perform user defined action (e.g. launch an application sleep, lock screen etc.)
    - Open High Definition sound settings screen

Under Kubuntu 11.10 however, the functions are respectively:

    - input letter x
    - decrease screen brightness
    - non-functional

So it is clear that these buttons are useless under Kubuntu as every keyboard has a letter x and this laptop already has another button to adjust the screen brightness. I found a post on a site where it is explained how you could configure the functions of the keys, but it did not work out for me. This might have been because the explanation was for Gnome3 and not KDE, however I do not know. The post was on:

Does anyone know how I could get Windows-like functions for these keys?
