A few days ago I had issues with wicd, and had to install network-manager & its kde frontends. This morning, I thought I would see if wicd was working again. Lo & behold, synaptic showed wicd-kde. I thought I would mention this for anyone who would prefer the kde front end to the gtk front end.
It works. For anyone who has used wicd, the setup is a no-brainer.
