Often my CD's don't automount.
I'm using an external usb cdrom (Pioneer kb17 in generic box).
Winxp has no problems mounting CDs in this drive.
After looking on the web, I decided to watch "before" and "after"
with dmesg.
The mount fails because of a read error. Kubuntu just
quits trying after that with no message.
Repeated unplugging and replugging the CD or USB usually
works. Then everything is fine.
==> Is there an easy way to tell Kubuntu 10.04 to retry seeking
==> the drive?
It would be nice
(a) if Kubuntu tried a little harder to seek the drive, and
(b) if failure on read error popped up a button window
with "CDROM Read Error: retry or abort."
