Following the official installation-process, my Kubuntu-installation cannot function past the opening splash-screen. The "hard-drive" appears, but the rest of the icons don't phase in; and I never get past it. I attempted the trick given recently doesn't function: xorg.conf is blank, for starters. I'm guessing that I need to rely on XRender instead of OpenGL, but I don't know how to impose such a change.
- If you have copied text output that contains formatting (colors, highlighting, etc.), please do not enclose it in QUOTE or CODE tags. Just right-click your mouse and choose "Paste Without Formatting" or similar (Paste as plain text).
