ps. If you want the system tray icon to load when you load the app without using a shell just drag the Ubuntu One Shortcut from your Application Launcher onto your panel and use the RMB options to edit the Icon settings of the command it uses to launch and put in this:

Hello all; just a quick update:

Just wanted to make someone aware of new information: The posting for installing Ubuntuone on Kubuntu does not work for Kubuntu 13.04 raring, however, if one has installed from the new 13.04 iso and ran all updates; a modified version of the command line option posted works perfectly in all aspects. The modification is as follows : "sudo apt-get install ubuntuone-control-panel-qt ubuntuone-control-panel-qt" be sure to update apt-get first. Once apt-get has installed Ubuntuone on your computer, go to application menu>settings>ubuntuone and click to setup and connect to your personal cloud. The icon command is not recognized, to have an icon; in the menu, right click on the installer icon and select add to "panel" or "desktop". Once setup and connection is complete this icon interacts with Ubuntuone to allow you to manage your cloud files.

Thanks for your time; hope this helps someone.
