    smplayer playlist/repeat problems

    smplayer won't play any other files in the playlist other than the first one, and won't repeat any files either.

    The repeat option only shows up in the playlist, not in any menu that I could find, and my playlist contains 20 songs, and the first one plays, but then it stops.

    I can manually select any song, and manually scroll through them, but smplayer won't manually advance or repeat.

    Has anyone else had issues with this?

    Clean install of 12.10, installed smplayer from synaptic, VLC player works properly with all of the repeat modes and playlists, so I'm thinking it is an smplayer issue.

    Have you looked at the configuration file?
    http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawik...ration_file.3F

    Deleting it (renaming is safer) might generate a new one and fix problems.

        This is an audio related issue.
        If this is happening to you, then please set SMPlayer to have direct access to the sound device, rather than via a daemon like esd or pulseaudio (Default for Ubuntu)

        So the following would work:

        killall pulseaudio esd
        SMPlayer Options->Preferences->Audio Tab
        Set "Output Driver" to "alsa"
        OK

        SMPlayer should now auto-advance without issue.
