View Full Version : [SOLVED] Another 'Flash Broken After Update' Problem

After installing the Flash installer update, Flash no longer works (Youtube is fine, as it reverts to HTML5, after briefly showing 'missing plugins').

I removed, then reinstalled Flash Installer - no change.

I tried the process suggested in 'Flash Broke with Update from Muon!' thread, but with Firefox – no change

I tried to force the earlier version of Flash, as supplied with 12.04, but it keeps the latest 'update' version, so no change.

Muon has been used for all install/removal.

Any ideas?

TIA.

Open konsole and uninstall flashplugin-installer. Add Canonical partners repos to yours and, konsole again, install over.

Glad I could help, but the guys on the other thread - similar topic - should be thanked, really. ;)

If someone doesn't need proprietary, closed source binaries like Flash, that's better.
If he needs Flash, he must not update it while it's running. It's better to close all the windows of internet navigators (like Firefox, Chromium, Rekonq, Konqueror, etc.) before updating Flash. People should not update the files of a program while it's running.

Thanks.

Adobe says 11.2 will be the last Linux version.

It's time to abandon the sinking Flash ship anyway...
