Can't Apply Updates! Please Help

I am able to download updates using Adept Updater but it freezes when it goes to prepare the updates for installation. It stops at 0% and will not continue. Any idea's? Is their a safemode or something i could get into that could help?

A thought. Minimize each open window and see if there is one 'in the background' that is waiting for a response from you (installed java and other applications can present this).

In the past i have clicked "show details" and there would be only that it was configuring KDM. But for some reason this time it allowed me to respond to questions on configuring the desktop. Therefore my problem seems to be fixed. Thanks!! :-D
