    LightDM-KDE

Any known tools or just plain articles out there on how to "modify" LightDM-KDE? I'm sure what is to be default in 12.10 is nice, but I like my touch on that!

    LIghtDM-KDE-Greeter

    Developers blog: http://www.sharpley.org.uk/

KDE System Settings > (System Administration) Login Screen (LIghtDM)
If the theme supports you could set the
    - background image
    - welcome image
    - welcome text

The LIghtDM-KDE themes are in the /usr/share/kde4/apps/lightdm-kde-greeter/themes/

The LIghtDM-KDE themes use the QML:

    lightdm --help
    :~$ lightdm --help
    Usage:
    lightdm [OPTION...] - Display Manager

    Help Options:
    -h, --help Show help options

    Application Options:
    -c, --config=FILE Use configuration file
    -d, --debug Print debugging messages
--test-mode Run as unprivileged user, skipping things that require root access
--pid-file=FILE File to write PID into
--xsessions-dir=DIRECTORY Directory to load X sessions from
--remote-sessions-dir=DIRECTORY Directory to load remote sessions from
--xgreeters-dir=DIRECTORY Directory to load X greeters from
--log-dir=DIRECTORY Directory to write logs to
--run-dir=DIRECTORY Directory to store running state
    --cache-dir=DIRECTORY Directory to cache information

As KDE-LightDM prepares for heading into extragear, I'm busy tying up all the loose ends and final bits of polish on the product. One of the final items left is working on making it easy for modders and hackers to build their own themes and make these really easy to install for all users...

...In the long term I hope to have a category on kde-look, or equivalent.

Contact me (d_ed) in #kde-lightdm on Freenode if you're interested...

I don't want to put a link directly because it contains some audio etc. that I'm not sure we have a license for. Besides installation is awkward and I don't want to support people asking me until I finish building a plasma:ackage that can handle global installs properly...

                +1

I've been searching and haven't found a thing. Those two on the developer's site really aren't theme packages as far as I can tell and aren't what I'm looking for anyway.

                  Experience LightDM

                  KDE Look: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php...content=158898

                  Description:
This is my first LightDM Theme for Kubuntu. It is simple, but looks really elegant. This is first release and may contain a little bugs. Please report any wishes or bugs in comments

Hope you like it, thank you!
                  It has 'How_To_Install':
                  HOW TO INSTALL:

                  1) Install the Kubuntu-qtquick-components package from Debs direcotry. Please install package for your architecture (32 or 64 bit)
                  2) Copy "Experience" dir from "Experience_Wallpaper" to /usr/share/wallpapers (check if it's working in Desktop Settings)
                  3) Copy "Experience" dir from "Experience_LDM" to /usr/share/kde4/apps/lightdm-kde-greeter/themes (this is the actual LightDM theme)

                  4) openup konsole and type "lightdm --test-mode (you need xserver-xephyr package to run this, if you don't have it installed yet, you'll get a message to install it first)

If the theme displays correctly - you're good to go!

                  5) Go to System Settings -> LightDM - > choose Experience from the list, hit Apply, type your password and log out.

                  HOPE YOU LIKE IT!

                  ENJOY!
                  My notes:

                  - Before testing you need to pick the Experience theme from the KDE System Settings > Login Screen (lightDM). The 'lightdm --test-mode' will show the picked lightDM theme.
                  - The Experience theme is using the Experience wallpaper. If you want to change the background then you need to edit the main.qml. One way is to copy the wallpaper part ( ScreenManager {...} ) from the 'classic' main.qml.
