    [Multimedia] K3B I'm new I need help.

    I think that I may be supposed to be offering help here. and I wish I could.

    I'm running an up to date 18.04 LTS.

    I used to use PCLinuxOS and I loved the efficiency and simplicity of K3B for burning discs,

    However, it aint working here.

    I go to burn an audio CD and I get error messages and it won't even start.

    And yes I've read that those errors are due to damaged disks so I've tried ditching disks.

    Errors say;
    cdrecord has no permission to open device.
    And.
    Modify device settings in K3B to solve this problem.

    I have read that K3B does not use cdrecord but instead wodim, so the error message is out of date,

    I can't find Device Settings in K3B. It used to just work on PCLOS!

    I don't know what to do.

    I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it.

    Mildly upset.

    Considering the trauma that we are going through.

    Take Care Folks.

        Is your user name in the cdrom group, or the cdrom group in your user group?
        Use
        $ groups
        to find out.
