    speedtest-cli

    It's in the 20.04 repository.
    Works nicely.

    Nice.
It got me a bit confused at first, because it said:
    Testing download speed...
    Download: 90.99 Mbit/s
    Testing upload speed...
    Upload: 88.75 Mbit/s

During which my conky was reporting over 11.5 MiB/s consistently. So I did the conversion, and 91Mbit/s is 11.375 Mbyte/s.
    Which looks about right.
But, MiB is mebibytes And 91 Mbit/s is "only" 10.848 Mib/s.

So, is my conky reporting MB/s and saying it's MiB/s? So, I'm still confused :·)
    Anyway, I did:

    speedtest-cli --bytes

    Testing download speed...
    Download: 11.24 Mbyte/s
    Testing upload speed...
    Upload: 10.88 Mbyte/s

(speeds vary quite a bit between tests)

Which is pretty much what my conky says, whether it's MBs or MiBs or whatever is of little concern to me, it's still quite satisfactory a speed.
Conclusion: I don't need the tool at all because I have my faithful conky there all the time :·) but it's a nice little tool.
