    [PLASMA 5] GIMP splash screen

I installed GIMP from the Discover store. I have a couple of issues now

    1. Python plugins not working ( worked in Snap version )

    2. No idea how to change the GIMP splash screen.

    Any help will be great.

Fixed the GIMP splash screen issue as per this guide

Perhaps you wanna install python-is-python3 package or just make a symlink called python that will execute python3 if you place it in the /usr/bin directory.
      sudo ln -s python3 python
      and run...
      sudo apt-get install gimp-data-extras gimp-plugin-registry
      Multibooting: Kubuntu Focal Fossa 20.04
Before: Precise 12.04 Xenial 16.04 and Bionic 18.04
      Win 10 sadly
      Using Linux since June, 2008

Thanks. May I know what change we are making. Because in the meantime I tried the AppImage option and used

        GMIC-Gimp-2.10-linux.AppImage

        ResynthesizerPlugin-Gimp-2.10-linux.AppImage

But none of the above is shown inside GIMP. Also, I tried Edit > Preferences and put ofn-erase-background in the plugins folder. Even that is nowhere to be seen inside GIMP.

When I have installed GIMP, I've always used this PPA for the latest version. Recently though, Krita is enough for my simple usage.

Thank you so much for the link with the guide on how to change the screensaver. I have never found this guide anywhere before, and it is very simple!
