    Missing software in 20.04 repo

I am running version 18.04LTS and tried 20.04LTS prior to installing it. I do a lot of video editing and creating DVD's using Bombono authoring software. I discovered that Bombono and some other programs that I use are not available in the repo and I can't add their PPA. If I do an upgrade from 18.04LTS to 20.04LTS instead of a clean install, will I still be able to run Bombono or will it be removed during the clean install?

it depends on the individual program. If the dependecies are no longer available, or it requires a specific version of something, it at the very least won't run or work in 20.04. Upgrading may well uninstall it in this situation.
as for PPAs, many people who package software in PPAs often do not have things set up for 20.04 immediately, if they plan to do so at all (if they have moved on or no longer have interest or time)

Bombono is probably gone as it has not been maintained for many many years, the version in 19.10 is from 2013, so it likely is suffering from bit rot, and won't build or run in 20.04
Never used bombono, not in many ages, I did not like it, or it did not work for me. (same thing, lol) I have used Devede, which still seems to be alive. Again, it has been close to a decade since i messed with optical drives.

If you give a list of what is missing, maybe we can help find sources

i request and require for bombono-dvd to be removed from ubuntu. Also, what is a dvd? Is it like netflix for the record players?

I use DVD's to create videos of pictures and movies for friends and family members that they can use at their convenience and watch on their TV or computer for free.

Thanks for you help and suggestions. I've used Bombono for years without any problems, also used DVDstyler which doesn't seem to be around either. Linux seems to be limited in video authoring software. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'll take a look at Devede.

My comment was a tiny tiny bit sarcastic

it is just that DVDs are pretty much on the way of the dodo so few if any people are still interested in coding such software.
I can't find any others that are not ancient and dead.
The popular video editor Kdenlive has a DVD wizard that may be useful, though I have not used it.

I did not try this software, the website for it feels wrong, try the dowload page, for example.Special downloader/chrome extension.
However, it is available as a snap, which is only two years old.

The latest Devede is available in 20.04 as a snap, with the previous release (last July) is in the normal repos.
