Ok. Sorry about the confusion. I was just hoping it could help.
Still, while I'm at it (yeah yeah, I'm keeping at it ;·) - it's (still) unrelated but.

The whole thing seems to be a bit of a... failing, in neon. It doesn't have a driver management utility. If you use software-properties-kde, it doesn't have a driver tab.
So to manage drivers - AFAIK - you have to install software-properties-gtk, which does have it.
    Software-properties-qt you can't install.

    ~$ sudo apt install software-properties-qt
E: Unable to locate package software-properties-qt

In 18.04 you install kubuntu-driver-manager, which puts it in System Settings, instead of a tab.
Yes, Neon does NOT include Ubuntu's driver manager software, As it is Ubuntu specific you get whatever is available in 18.04. Software-properties-qt is not available in Bionic. It wasn't around in 2018.

OK... please don't shoot. I'm just an old boy, whose story is... irrelevant but not bad, don't shoot ;·)
Just for the sake of knowledge/discussion... the thread/problem is [SOLVED] anyway...

        ~$ kubuntu-driver-manager
        kubuntu-driver-manager: command not found

(shouldn't it say "but it can be installed with")...

        ~$ sudo apt install kubuntu-driver-manager
        Reading package lists... Done
        .. obladih obladah...
        Setting up kubuntu-driver-manager (15.10ubuntu4) ...

        ~$ kubuntu-driver-manager
        kubuntu-driver-manager: command not found

[EDIT] Ah. You mean Kubuntu 18.04. Sorry, thing is, my neon is 18.04-based...

yes, Neon is 18.04 in terms of packaging and Ubuntu-ness.

And package names do not always equal command/binary names.

Right. Yeah, well, my crystal ball got all foggy, I couldn't quite divine it, you know how it is sometimes ;·)

            Still, that sort of works.
I type that, I get this:

Which, after an aeon and a bit - OK, about as long as the other one(s) - produces this:

Still. Maybe KDE neon should improve its driver management a bit :·/

But Neon doesn't provide any proprietary driver management, it does not intend to, and is out of the scope of the project. (unless KDE themselves develop a cross-distro driver manager tool, which is extremely unlikely)

I started this thread for a specific reason, and that reason was since been resolved/solved. The current conversation isn't germane. Thread is Closed.
