+1 after all it just goes release today , maybe the flags are not set just yet.

and you can look in /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades and see if your set "Prompt=normal"

Thanks for the response, yeah I`m thinking that everything may not be set for upgrades too. Thanks again.

This file needs to be changed by the Ubuntu release team to add 19.10

              https://changelogs.ubuntu.com/meta-release

Often that happens on the release day, sometimes a little later. Depends how the release team see the state of upgrades/servers etc.

Your missing the fact that there's usually a delay between the release of the iso and the activation of the release-upgrade servers. I seem to recall having to wait a week or two on some previous releases.

However, the files are all in place on the servers, and the 19.10 release notes specifically say how to do an on-line update, so it's a little frustrating having to guess when you might be able to actually do it.

After the release of the iso files, there's usually a heavy demand load on the download servers. They're probably waiting for that to abate, so as not to overload the servers. I have a vague memory that that was the reason given for the delay with earlier releases.

I was wondering the same when I found the upgrade isn't really available yet despite the web site claiming it is. I guess if we get tired of waiting then we can always do a fresh install. Might run into a few bugs though that an upgrade might miss then again upgrades can reveal bugs too.

EDIT: They could always use the torrent method for upgrading that should lighten the load.

Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

                          sudo do-release-upgrade -d
works for me (I think it is still considered a developmental release, thus the -d)

Do you think it's rolled out on a regional basis? I'm in the UK and there's still no sign of the new release?
