How to connect to network and VPN automatically without entering password?

    Hi!

I have a wired internet connection and a VPN, set up under "Edit your network connections". They work fine as soon as I enter a password. My problem is that my system will not connect to the VPN automatically upon startup.

    1. If I have KDE Wallet enabled, then I need to enter my KDE Wallet password before it will connect.
    2. If I disable KDE Wallet, then the VPN connection refuses to save my password at all. Under "Edit your network connections" I can select "Store password for this user only (encrypted)", enter a password and save. It has absolutely no effect. I still need to enter my VPN password next time I boot.

Does anyone know how to achieve this? Thanks!

I am on a desktop computer using KDE 18.04 and wired ethernet.

Setting the password for KDEWallet to <blank> might work.
It works for the wifi thing.
Of course, that will disable the wallet "protection" for other applications...

IIRC, you have to chose "Store Password For All Users, (unencrypted)" to get it to auto connect.

I'm going to go with this solution. It's a desktop computer which I don't expect to get stolen.

          Thanks for all the replies!

Update: Setting KDE wallet to a blank password did not work.
