Chromium - Automatic video playing when turning to sleep mode

    Hi guys,

I am using Kubuntu 18.04. After an update I made about 1-2 months ago, and only with Chromium browser, videos that were paused (even in "hidden" tabs) started playing when I fold down the screen to turn the laptop on sleep mode. The video plays for a few seconds (until the sleep mode is on), then when I turn on the laptop again, it starts playing.

This is annoying. Can anyone help me with this?

Note: it does not happen with Firefox.

    Thank you in advance

I was searching for a solution to a similar problem and the search engine brought this up. Too bad no one ever answered you.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

Sounds like perhaps a Chromium issue rather than specifically a Kubuntu issue since it happens in one browser and not another. Have you looked for anything similar at a Chromium forum?
