My GPU is GTX 1070. My audio setup is, I have a headphone connected to the front headphone port and I don't have any external speakers, instead I use my monitor's built-in speaker (through HDMI).
After installing Kubuntu, audio was working okay. I used pavucontrol to switch between those two outputs, sometimes HDMI would show unplugged but it'd get fixed with a reboot. This morning, I went into Additional Drivers and switched to the latest nVidia driver in hopes of playing some game but that broke my audio completely. Both of the outputs started showing unplugged. It didn't get fixed even when I switched back to X.org X Server.
