''Xonotic'' FPS/nVidia v415-Desktop Screen Corruption After Exiting Game

    Hi,

Xonotic is a superb free FPS for my Linux.
    https://www.xonotic.org/

Running current Xonotic on a desktop with the following specs:
    - Kubuntu 18.04 LTS 64Bit (fully updated)
    - Intel Core i5 3Ghz 4-core CPU
    - 16GB RAM
    - nVidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB GDDR5 GPU with proprietary nVidia display driver v415
(everything about the above system is perfect)

After I finish playing the Xonotic game when I exit game I get a flickering desktop(reboot required)?
Any ideas on how to fix the above?

I am running the SDL version of the game which *should* be working fine?
Also I did not change any of the graphic settings in-game (running default full screen)

    Thanks!

PS - I also posted this in the official Xonotic forums...

Sounds like it's not fully clearing itself from the system.

    I suggest playing the game,then after you quit,;

#1 - Check to see if it has any processes left over still running. If so, kill them and see if it fixes the issue.
#2 - Try restarting plamsashell rather rebooting and see if that clears the effect.
#3 - Try logging out and back in rather than rebooting and see if that clears the effect.

One or all of these should work. Assuming it's not something you can actually fix, you could run the game from a script and have it do whatever's needed to fix the issue.

Another idea is to run the game in a VM instead of directly on the desktop, but that might not work if it needs direct access to the video card.
