Kernel 4.16 or 4.17 possible ?

    O.K., my bad. So whatever is there in the Kubuntu 4.15 is as good as it gets. And when a 4.16, 4.17, etc. becomes available, then the driver is there also - once the kernel is available, or is found in some other distro.

      It's really easy to install a mainline kernel, it's also very easy to switch between the different kernels and remove the ones that are causing problems.

      I used this tool to install kernel 4.17.4 on my system:

      If it's causing problems for you you can just switch kernel in grub.

        Of course. There CAN also be consequences.
