ksm-server crashes repeatably during mutipile reboot attempts

I just rolled back my NVIDIA driver to the previous one since another guy said it worked for him. The Transport Fever performance patch seems to not like the latest NVIDIA driver. I tried to reboot to make sure the system was reset properly and ksm-server crashed! Mutiple attempts at rebooting result in a crash.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

When I rebooted the monitor would just flash the resolution number over and over. I had to use the recovery option via Grub and select normal boot as it it will not boot the normal way.

Was Transport Fever running on Steam before you installed that patch?

I upgraded to Bionic Beaver. No change in TpF performance. Perhaps the performance patch increased the minimum graphics card specs above my GT730. It still plays just FPS average is < 12.

Nouveau should do better than 12 fps!
