    Update via Discover fails

    I saw the update icon in the tray so I clicked on it to get the updates. I clicked on the update button and entered my password. After a few seconds it said that the update was interrupted. I didn't do anything, so it must be a bug. It said to run dpkg config -a or so I thought. When I run that command in a terminal, it says that something is missing. Any idea what I missed? It only displayed for a few seconds and I barley had time to read it. Maybe I missed reading something. Is there a way to increase the time that a pop up message stays on the screen?

    In a konsole run: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

    What error messages (if any) do you get from the second command?

      E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

        Ah, I made a couple of syntax errors due to not being able to read it fast enough before the pop up disappeared. It is fixed now. Thanks Snowhog.

        No one posted how to change the time out for pop ups, so I can added a few seconds.
