All the other hits on my searches involved upgrades and the old /home profile causing issues. I am not saying you should delete you profile and start a new, but that was sum of what I found (also fresh installs preferable to upgrades). Regardless, please post your output from Vinny's suggestion.
      Nowadays I'm mostly Mac, but...

        Here's the output:
        Code:
        find ~/ -user root
        /home/vamsi/.nano
        /home/vamsi/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library/3.4/
        <snip>...nearly 1400 files from the 'R' directory ...<snip>
        /home/vamsi/.cache/dconf

Hi (sorry for my bad english !)

same problem here !! solved after rename some files :

          - amarok_homerc => amarok_homerc.bak (amarok create new file when it lauch)
          - amarok-appletsrc => amarok-appletsrc.bak (amarok create new file when it lauch)
          - amarokrc => amarokrc.bak (amarok create new file when it lauch) ==>> amarok works without rename this file but it's slow !

Thank you jajaX! Renaming these three files has fixed my problem too.

Just a FYI for everyone following this topic :
The issue is only with the "Album" applet. You can edit this applet out of your configs files, and Amarok will start properly, with all your others settings still there.

Amarok, is not part of Bionic. Try VLC player.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.
