Having an issue with KWrite / Kate showing up in favorites menu

Anyone else seeing this? If I open KWrite during a session and at some point later logout or re-start the computer it shows up in my favorites menu. I always remove it, but the cycle continues. Apparently I'm not the only one: https://askubuntu.com/questions/9707...ma-5-11/970739

It would appear to happen both with Kate and KWrite but no other apps. I could not find a relevant bug on BKO. Also, I assume KWrite and Kate share much of the same code, but I'm not aware of what the differences are and why both exist instead of just Kate? This would be relevant to know which app to file a bug on. If someone else could confirm, that would be great.
