    Desktop Theme writer/modifier ?

Is there a program/editor that will allow me to modify an existing desktop theme and just change a couple little minor things?
Like instead of having a transparent task bar have it be solid?
Otherwise the theme I have is fine.

Just a couple tweaks, that's all.

their is the "plasma theme explorer" ,,,it should be installed in the "development" section of your menu ,,,,or I have it because of something else I may have installed at some time .

I cant help with how to use it however

Some "themes" just won't be removed.
Try as I might I can't get rid of "Breeze".
Is there some terminal code to do this? or will I really screw things up by trying?

Is Breeze the only Desktop Theme installed? If 'yes', I'm not surprised that you can't remove it.

Reading around on the net a mention was made of

                /usr/share/sddm/themes/
and breeze is the only one listed.
                Maybe that's why?

Seems like when you add themes via the System Settings it should appear there?

themes installed by the user in this way go to "~/.local/share/plasma/desktoptheme

doing a simulation seems to just remove the the packages neon-desktop plasma-desktop and breeze and NOT all the packages that they depend on (your hole desktop) ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

                  Code:
                  vinny@vinny-Bonobo-Extreme:~$ sudo apt-get -s remove breeze
                  [sudo] password for vinny:
                  Reading package lists... Done
                  Building dependency tree
                  Reading state information... Done

The following packages will be REMOVED:
                   breeze neon-desktop plasma-desktop
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 3 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
                  Remv neon-desktop [4+p16.04+git20180208.1711]
                  Remv plasma-desktop [4:5.12.2+p16.04+git20180302.0030-0]
                  Remv breeze [4:5.12.2+p16.04+git20180226.1623-0]
BUT you do it at your own risk .

I dont think I would , you can just use the themes you installed and forget Breeze is their .

O and /usr/share/sddm/themes/ is just the theme for "sddm" , their are others you can install for sddm

On my Kubuntu 16.04 with kubuntu-backports, I get something more ...
                      Code:
                      $ apt purge -s breeze
NOTE: This is only a simulation!
apt-get needs root privileges for real execution.
Keep also in mind that locking is deactivated,
so don't depend on the relevance to the real current situation!

Use 'apt autoremove' to remove them.
The following packages will be REMOVED:

                      And apt-show plasma-desktop doesn't indicate that it's a metapackage.

I'd echo the advice to keep the system themes even if you have others.

                        Finally!
I was able to install and fix the problem with "Classic Theme Restorer".
I finally pushed the right button and the blackness left.
                        What a job...

Isn't Classic Theme Restorer a Firefox extension available in Firefox versions older than Firefox 57?

                            Correct
It took away not only the blackness from FF but also from Thunderbird and a bunch of other apps.
Can't explain why it works, but it did.
                            The blackness is gone

I find the "a bunch of other apps" bit very difficult to understand.
