update-apt-xapi consumes most of my CPU

My CPU is frequently very busy with a process update-apt-xapi and than python3. Also in system tray appears information that I can install flash in Firefox. How can I get rid of it? I found a packages apt-xapian-index and python3-xapian1.3. Can I uninstall them?

My CPU is very old and these processes make system unable to react my normal activity. I want to check for updates and do updates only in terminal. But I am afraid that if I uninstall them I will not be able to do updates at all.

try to do all the updates, then see if it is still clogging up the CPU.

I'm guessing that as long as you have Firefox from the repos and don't install Flash, you'll keep getting that notification. I see that as well. I won't install Flash. I looked at ways to turn off that message, but other notifications would be turned off as well. So I live with it.
