    Network Monitor?

I'm at a basic level as far as this goes. In the last few days my internet performance has become abysmal. I'm unable to upload a 60 kb file ATM. What I'm looking for is some way to detect and possibly record the network activity/speeds I'm getting. There's a little network icon in the system tray that looks like it would work, but it's showing no activity while I'm watching YouTube and trying to upload my little file. It's also inconveniently located when pinned open. I need a program that isn't attached to the task bar. Any suggestions?

The second tab on KSysguard shows the network activity.
And, there is a widget you can put on the panel called "Network Monitor".

Thanks. Sending is typically in single digit KiB/s very briefly peaking to as much as 15. Big spaces of 0 sending and receiving so at least nothing funky is going on.
