    Screen Brightness Does not Work

    Hello everyone,

    I am using Kubuntu 16.10 and I encounter problem with my screen brightness control. I installed Kubuntu 2 days ago and I managed to made it work for a moment by editing /etc/default/grub line to:
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor"

    It worked but today stopped working. I can't see my slider to control screen brightness any my functions keys (fn + f9/f10) also do not work.
    In the beginning they worked, the small icon with brightness progress was shown on the screen but the brightness didn't change, but now when I click them nothing happens, they do not show nothing.
    I am sure they work, I checked it with acpi_listen, the others Functions keys - for sound for example work very well.

    Anyone could help me manage to make them work?

    PS. Not I noticed that when I remove again acpi_backlight=vendor then Fn functions work, they show screen brightness but brightness does not change.
    But I worked for a long time with backlight set to vendor, I used it many months in Mint with KDE.

    My laptop is HP EliteBook 8560w.
