legacy printer HP 6P printer buffered out Kubuntu 16.10 after update

This appeared after the update as of this instant.

It has never been a problem before this instant.

This "may" be an artifact of a physical setup wherein the "parallel" printer is being communicated with using a usb adapter.

Because of this there may be several "buffers" which are interacting, the Libreoffice buffer, the printer buffer, the usb buffer.

The "printer buffer" maxes out on ...say for example, 15 pages of 20 pages of "medium density" text.

Some people are uncomfortable at their stage of using Linux with altering the numbers in a script.

For those persons the following is provided.

For some odd reason there is a "fix" which is non-obvious.

Cancel the print job in the printer setup, then restart the printer.

The printer buffer may then print the rest of the pages or part thereof.

There is no need to unplug the printer from the computer.

Verify that there is nothing in the printer cue.

Restart the computer and verify that the there is nothing in the cue, which is virtually impossible, and wait a minute or so to verify that there is nothing in the printer buffer, which, is, actually, possible.

It used to be a normal fix to "turn the printer off, unplug it from the computer and unplug the power cord" when this kind of stuff happened.

Remove the printer from printer setup.

    Restart the computer.

    Re-add the printer.

The system should then print the full document.

Again, this happened after the latest update which may be the governing situation, some kind of change in this or that buffer.

if there are questions, please ask.
