    lockup when disabling/deleting any fonts

i dont want all these fonts on my system right now and just want to keep the only one i have set up for my current KUBUNTU setup (the oxygen font). i tried deleting one it gets stuck at 50% for a good long time forcing me to hold down power button and reboot. log in try again but to disable it locks up again.

is there any way to quickly get rid of the unwanted and un-used fonts ?

use your package manager to do this for most of the fonts you don't want, but do remember that terminals and other things don't/can't use a font such as Oxygen

which font is doing this, and, how exactly are you removing them?

all of them . i am doing this through SYSTEM>FONTS and just right clicking on them it either delete/disable them.

keeping things to a bare minimal is what i want.... i am still new to all of this of course ( i am used to deleting language and font packs from mac os x , to speed it up a bunch . figured might help here in kubuntu's situation too.)

It can, but not terribly much imo. I doubt you'll even notice.
