    Is Plasma improving since v 5.3.1 ?

    Hi all.

I had quite rough experience with Plasma 5 earlier this year ( more on that here https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...-Kubuntu-15-04) thus I installed Kubuntu 14.04 with Plasma 5 look in order to have stability and (partially) beauty of Plasma 5. Since then Plasma was upgraded couple times and I wonder if things get more stable - should I stick to 14.04 or could I plan 15.10 installation ?

My main concern is still the stability of Plasma 5. Any positive (or negative) observations ?

    Regards
    Artūras B.

Plasma 5 is my daily driver and my observation is that it is, for me, the best DE available.

I still get the occasional non-fatal crash notice when logging out or shutting down, but it recovers and goes on without any intervention.

Based on all the comments since it came out, I suspect much of my lack of problems is a fresh install, a fresh home, a laptop built for Linux, using the nouveau driver, never using baloo, and not using (or trying to migrate) the PIM apps.

But maybe it is terrible and I'm just bamboozled by the beautiful Breeze Dark.

      I use PIM, because I don't like "all-web-based" approach

I did fresh install (preserved but cleaned /home from old crap) of 15.04 HP EliteBook 2540p on April this year, but it was constantly crashing due to overheat - thermald didn't help. Now I'm on Lenovo T420 with Kubuntu 14.04 - maybe it is time give the second chance to Plasma 5 ? Is the version 5.4.0 packaged and available to Kubuntu 15.04 ?

If the HP had a Radeon card, then yeah, lots of pain there.

        15.04 seems to be at 5.3.2: http://kubuntu.org/news/plasma-532-a...-kubuntu-1504/
