    No sound

    Friends,

Last few days the following is happening.
Each time I start Google Hangouts, the sound stops working. Cannot hear anything anymore via headphones nor via speakers.
Looking at settings menu I cannot find anything that's wrong.

    Found the following fix: (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/So...otingProcedure)
    killall pulseaudio; rm -r ~/.config/pulse/* ; rm -r ~/.pulse*; ~/.config/pulse
    wait 10 seconds, then reboot

This helps, but as soon as I start Hangouts sound disappears once more. Or, lets be careful, I think it is Hangouts that does this.
There's no difference between starting Hangouts in Firefox or Chrome.

What is it that I am doing wrong here?

    I am on Kubuntu 14.04.

    Thanks.
    Gijsbert

    P.s. apologies for bad English.

Have you tried 'playing' with various volume controls?
In the past I've seen success with pavucontrol, veromix and alsamixer(gui).

if you are using the "google talk" plug in with your "hangouts" it vary well could be hijacking the audio ,,,,,,,I would start with the pavucontrol package ,,,,,,,you will find the "pulse audio volume control" in the applacations menu under "multimedia" .

play with the settings wile some audio should be playing so you can hear if you get it configured correctly
