The Case for better Dock support in KDE Plasma

    Hi,
    interesting thread, since I was a HUGE advocate of the gKrellm dock a long, long, time ago.

    But, I'll cut to the chase.

    I think that adding a "dock" on "top of" the whold KDE way of doing things, might just be "too much video processing load" for folks that have a system that is "older".

    I, personally, LIKE docks.....

    I always like Cairo....

    but just sayin'...

      I have been using the "dock", ie "Application filled Empty Panel" approach for years on old and new machines and I haven't noticed any slow down. I am on my slowest machine and the htop output with the "dock" is:

      So the highest load is from sddm and konsole and there is nothing to indicate that the "dock" is loading the system. So enjoy using your "dock" and I hope others will do the same as it saves time using the computer.
