    [14.04] usb3.0 recognized as usb2.0

    Late 2012 Mac Mini
    Intel i7
    Kubuntu 14.04
    ----------------------------
Supposedly all of my usb ports on this machine are usb 3.0 and acted as such when I am booted into OSX.
Unfortunately when I'm running Kubuntu these usb 3.0 ports are only recognized as usb 2.0.
I've done quite a bit of searching around and I'm having no luck, or I'm looking in the wrong places.
    Thanks in advance!

How do you know they're being detected as USB 2.0?

I saw that, but I'm wondering why everything else is showing up as 2.0?

More detail is going to be required. Pick a specific 3.0 device, open a terminal, enter the command dmesg , insert the 3.0 device into the 3.0 port, enter dmesg again and post the output (just the difference - the new part that wasn't there from the first dmesg command) and post detailed info about the device used.
